Pride Story Bundles to Benefit Charity

A banner with a faded-out background of rainbow pride-flag-esque stripes. Text reads, "Read Queer Stories, Support Queer Causes with Duck Prints Press." It includes the Duck Prints Press logo, with the name of the business, rainbow duck prints on the left and bottom sides, and a white duck standing beside the name, looking at the viewer. Beneath that is the Press slogan, "we print diversity."

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH, EVERYONE! We are thrilled to announce our second-annual Pride Bundles for Charity with two all-new short story bundles – 30 stories total! – that we are selling at a discount to raise money for our chosen queer charity!

Last year, our debut Pride bundles raised almost $350 for queer charities. This year, we’re back with a new General Imprint Bundle and a new Explicit Imprint Bundle, each discounted 20% from their list prices (and each including multiple stories that aren’t for sale and are usually only available to our backers on Patreon) and with 20% of the net profit going to Rainbow Railroad.

How This Works

  • you buy one or both bundles between now and July 8th, 2024.
  • we tally up all the proceeds earned and do some math-e-magic to figure out how much we’re donating!
  • before the end of July, we donate the raised money to Rainbow Railroad, we post the proof we’ve done so.
  • you get fantastic stories!
  • we all get that happy, glowy feeling of knowing that money has been well-spent on fantastic causes!

About the Press

Duck Prints Press is a queer-owned indie press, founded to publish original works by fancreators. We’ve been in operation for over 3 years, and in that time we’ve worked with well over 150 creators to publish six anthologies and almost 100 other stories, from shorts to novels, and we’ve got more on the works (our next anthology, our first erotica collection, will be crowdfunding within the next month!). The vast majority of our creators and their creations are queer/LGTBQIA+ (maybe even all, but we don’t out anyone and we don’t ask demography because, frankly, it’s none of our business).

25 of our authors have chosen to include their short stories in one or both of these short story bundles, and all our short story authors nominated potential charities and voted to select Rainbow Railroad as the beneficiary for our 2024 Pride Bundles.

About Rainbow Railroad

In countries around the world, LGBTQI+ people face violence and oppression simply because of who they love or who they are. Rainbow Railroad helps them get to safety! Rainbow Railroad is a global not-for-profit organization that helps at-risk LGBTQI+ people get to safety worldwide. Based in the United States and Canada, they’re an organization that helps LGBTQI+ people facing persecution based on their sexual orientation, gender identity and sex characteristics. In a time when there are more displaced people than ever, LGBTQI+ people are uniquely vulnerable due to systemic, state-enabled homophobia and transphobia. These factors either displace them in their own country or prevent them from escaping harm.

Note: This charity isnot affiliated with the Press, do not know we’re doing this fundraiser, have not endorsed this in anyway and are, as such, utterly uninvolved in this beyond being the beneficiaries of our efforts! Text is from the Rainbow Railroad website.

About the Bundles

We are offering two bundles, one with 18 short stories published under our General Imprint, the other containing 12 stories published under our Explicit Imprint. The shop listings include details about and excerpts from all the stories. Here’s the gist…

An ornate decorative graphic with elegant swirls is centered at the top. The title of the book is “Weather the Storm” and the author is Lyn Weaver. Text below the title reads: “Sci-Fi Dystopia * M/M * Metaphysics and Surreality * Dog Shifter Knotting.”

Book on the Right: A book cover. The background is a mottled tan parchment tone. Red triangles in each corner bear a simple motif resembling a very stylized peacock. What Plot?"

At the bottom of the graphic is the Duxxx Prints Press logo rendered in shades of red.

For December’s webstore releases, Duck Prints Press is bringing two formerly Patreon-exclusive stories to our Duxxx Prints Press webstore!

Title: Weather the Storm
Author: Lyn Weaver

Dystopian Capitalist Sci-Fi Setting, M/M, Dubious Consent, Body Horror, Pseudo-Selfcest, Genuinely Impossible to Tag

Ever since the conceptual entity Cerberus consumed part of Rain, Rain has straddled the line between being a human and being a creature of the reality-adjacent Mirror. Even worse, Cerberus hungers still; everywhere Rain goes, Cerberus is sure to follow eventually. Still, this has its advantages: when Rain goes to sabotage an LG Corp factory, having Cerberus show up ensures the factory will be destroyed so thoroughly that it’ll never operate again.

Knowing that won’t help Rain get through his encounter with the not-exactly-a-dog creature again, though. Maybe he’ll finally find out why Cerberus keeps pursuing him…

Lyn Weaver is the author of the popular Sunrise in the Black Forest ‘verse, which includes both explicit and general imprint titles. Weather the Storm is the first explicit title she’s written with Duck Prints Press outside that verse. The second, and most recent, is What Monsters Need, and is currently exclusive to our Patreon backers.

Title: Adventures of the Scarlet Sentry: After Dark
Author: Samantha M. Piper

Modern Fluff, F/F, Established Relationship, the Inherent Eroticism of Roleplaying as a Superhero and the Civilian they are Desperate to Protect

The curtains billowed outward gracefully onto the patio in the soft night breeze like ghosts reaching out for justice as she made her way through the shadows. It was well past midnight and not a soul was around, but stealth was a second skin to someone in her profession. Darkness was the only ally she could trust...

…or so Frankie thinks tonight, as she and her wife Nadia spend this evening of their vacation roleplaying as the Scarlet Sentry and Dr. Sharon Zenith finally setting costumes aside and giving in to desire.

This is Samantha M. Piper’s second title with Duck Prints Press. The first, Easier Than Expected, debuted our “they had it coming” tag…

Looking for some steamy this December? You’ve come to the right place! Come on over to duckprintspress.com and check out these explicit titles and many more!

Want even more spice this season? Become a backer of our Patreon, and you can immediately access THIRTY FOUR explicit titles, including both of today’s webstore releases!

Recent Releases from Duck Prints Press!

An informational graphic with 7 rectangular book covers over a simple gradient background from blue to pink. A header reads "November New Releases from Duck Prints Press." The book covers are: "The Lightkeeper and the Sea" by Zel Howland; "Sarisa" by N. C. Farrell; "Pour One Out" by A. J. Ash; "The Wayward Timekeeper" by Terra P. Waters; "Orchidelirium" by Dei Walker; "What Monsters Need" by Lyn Weaver; and "Pretty 7 Days a Week" by R. L. Houck. At the bottom of the graphic, text reads "Become a Patreon Backer and Read These Short Stories and Many Others NOW!"

November marks the first month when all of Duck Prints Press’s new short story releases are direct to Patreon!

How do short story releases now work?

Formerly, we published two short stories to Patreon and between four and eight short stories to our website each month. However, after considering the purchasing patterns of our customers and Patreon backers, we’ve decided to consolidate these releases and only publish short stories to Patreon (and authors are paid a lump sum instead of royalties). We will aim for six stories a month, though may sometimes publish more if we didn’t hit our target in a previous month (for example, we didn’t publish six in October, so we are publishing an extra in November). The level at which each story is released is determined randomly. What level people back at determines how many stories they receive each month!

All Backers: receive one general imprint short story per month
All backers at the $5/month level and up: receive one additional general imprint short per month
All backers at the $7/month level and up: receive one additional general imprint short story + one explicit imprint short story per month
All backers at the $10/month level and up: receive one additional story per month, which may be from either imprint
$25/month backers: receive all short stories we release every month!

Put another way, $3/month = 1 story; $5/month = 2 stories; $7/month = 4 stories; $10/month = 5 stories; and $25/month = 6 stories.

This is in addition to all the other backer rewards we offer, such as behinds-the-scenes access, Discord membership, webstore discounts, free merchandise, bonus stories, and more!

September General Imprint Releases: Three New Titles from Duck Prints Press

We’ve got three new short stories out September 28th 2023!

Title: A Ghost for Halloween
Author: K. B. Vimes

General/No Relationship, Family and Siblings, Ghosts, Mourning and Grief, Child Point of View

In the spirit of Color by Owl Outerbridge, The Offered Ones by A. L. Heard, and The Fairy Garden by Rhosyn Goodfellow, K. B. Vimes continues our authors’ tradition of writing compelling stories that explore the fears and hopes attendant with raising children in the modern world.

Halloween is Maggie’s favorite day of the year; she just wishes she knew why her parents hate it so much, why they always refuse to go trick-or-treating with her, why her mother spends the night drunk. At least this year, she’s found another kid to go with her. He’s strange, but Maggie will overlook a lot if it means she gets to have a friend.

Title: Be Not Afraid
Author: Nicola Kapron

M/M, Angels and Demons and the Apocalypse Oh My!, the Hardest Part of the Post-Apocalypse is Finding a Job, There’s Only One Bed (but the Roommate Doesn’t Sleep)

Nicola Kapron returns with her seventh story published with Duck Prints Press, this time exploring how “the end of the world” can mean very different things depending on one’s circumstances.

Tora survives the end of the world, and so does his sister, even though he can’t escape the niggling feeling that one or both of them shouldn’t have. Still, that’s not his immediately problem. No, he’s more concerned about his demon roommate and his odd-job daily gig.

Title: Commute
Author: Eliot Lovell

F/F, the Inherent Awkwardness of Sitting Together on the Train, WLW Disaster Flirting

Fluffy f/f is one of our most popular short story genres. Eliot Lovell’s debut story with Duck Prints Press joins our extensive catalog of works by such authors as A. L. Heard, Violet J. Hayes, Annabeth Lynch, and D. V. Morse. You can check out all of our f/f general imprint titles here.

Eloise intensely dislikes when she has to work in the city, not least because of the commute by train. But the longer the beautiful woman sits across from her in the facing row of seats, the more she starts to think maybe commuting isn’t so bad…

Also Now Available: The Summer 2023 General Imprint Bundle!

The Summer 2023 General Imprint Bundle Includes:

Usually $9.93, you can now get all seven of these stories for only $7.99! Come on over and check out a selection of what Duck Prints Press has to offer!

After Faith is found guilty of witchcraft, she’s subjected to the traditional punishment for her supposed crime: imprisonment for a month in a cave that may or may not hide a gateway to Hell in its unexplored depths.

But Faith isn’t a witch. She’s an alchemist. And while she could use alchemy to survive her imprisonment…if she’s alive when the townspeople return, she’ll be executed, because obviously only a witch could survive a month stoned-in with no food or water.

Even worse, Faith is increasingly sure that she’s not alone in this cave…

Each bundle costs $19.69, in honor of the year of Stonewall. Harlock, Nicola Kapron, Nina Waters, nottesilhouette, Puck Malamud, R. L. Houck, Sage Mooreland, Theresa Tanner, Tris Lawrence, and Violet J. Hayes. Marsh, boneturtle, Dei Walker, Lyn Weaver, Mikki Madison, Nina Waters, R. L. Houck, Samantha M. Piper, Tris Lawrence, and Xianyu Zhou. Approximately $8 of every Erotica Imprint bundle purchase goes to charity (40%).

Author: J. D. Harlock

If only to ensure the library continues getting new volumes for her to read.

Title: Awkward and Oblivious
Author: R. L. Houck
