We drove out of the trees into a clear patch of highway, and I sighed. The clouds were dark and green overhead, filled with snow or hail, and the patchy trees stood out sharp and black against them. A single beam of sunlight cracked through, gilding the edges of the storm break with gold.
“Nice view,” I said.
“It’s always a nice view.”
“I miss it,” I admitted.
