Cover Reveal for Many Hands: An Anthology of Polyamorous Erotica!

The front cover of a book entitled "Many Hands: An Anthology of Polyamorous erotica." It shows three figures in grayscale lying embraced atop a bed of stylized, flat-looking pink and orange flowers. The skin tones of these people vary and their genders aren't clear. The central figure lies splayed out, arms and legs spread, chest exposed, and looks at the viewer. Behind them, a darker-skinned person with a goatee embraces and supports him, and wraps a leg around to hide the butt of a third figure, chubbier, shown from the back. Their head, with shoulder-length hair, covers the crotch of the central figure.

Many Hands: An Anthology of Polyamorous Erotica is Duck Prints Press’s seventh anthology, and our first collection of erotica stories, and we are beyond thrilled to finally be able to share it with y’all! The cover art is by the amazing Aaron Kotze, and the book has a full, wrap-around cover featuring six figures, in keeping with our poly erotica theme! Here’s our full, spectacular wrap-around digest-sized book cover:

Artwork, wrap-around-cover sized, of a group of people in sexually suggestive positions, over a bed of orange and pink stylized flowers. There are six people shown in total, with a seventh whose hands are only visible. The people have a variety of skin tones, apparent genders, and body shapes/weights. On the left, a short-haired person with very large breasts lays on their back, with a long-haired person curled up by their belly, their elbow covering the lying-down person's crotch. The lying down person gazes at a mustached person who is mostly not shown, and their gazes meet. This third person is joining the curled-up person in fondling the nipple of the person lying down. The lying-down person stretches out a hand and a leg, and these are both linked to the main figure on the front over, who is smaller breasted, lying on their back, and looking at the art viewer. Behind them lies a person with a goatee who embraces them and has a hand on the thigh of the mustached-mostly-off-camera person. The last figure lies with their back to the viewer, their face over the crotch of the central figure on the right, and the leg of the bearded person who supports the main right-side figure is curled around to cover the butt of this last person. On the right side, which is the "book cover" portion of this wrap-around cover, are the words "Many Hands: An Anthology of Polyamorous Erotica."

What is this book? For those who love their short stories spicy, we’re delighted to share Many Hands: An Anthology of Polyamorous Erotica, celebrating many flavors of polyamorous relationships. Orgy? Yes please! Ménage à trois? C’est magnifique! Foursomes and moresomes? Delighted to attend! We asked our 15 contributes to blow our minds with their fun combinations, unusual settings, favorite trope usage, and (of course) super sexy smut – and they didn’t disappoint! From a vampire free-for-all to a heartfelt reunion, from surprise soulmates to enemies-to-lovers, this collection has polyamory in lots of scrumptious varieties that lovers of erotica won’t want to miss!

The crowdfunding campaign for Many Hands will be launching on June 25th, 2024! Follow our Kickstarter pre-launch page to make sure you’re among the first to hear when the campaign goes live!

May Trope Mayhem is a multi-fandom/original creation event open to writers, artists, and creators of all kinds! We’ve put together a list of 30 of our favorite tropes (plus one free day!), one per day through the month of May, and we encourage creators to join us for this month of fun tropey mayhem.

Our goal is to promote motivation and help with habit building, so we’re encouraging authors to keep their ficlets under 1,000 words, artists to stick to making just a sketch, gif makers to only do a single image, etc., as applicable to whatever you’re making.

This event is primarily held on Tumblr, but you’re welcome to participate anywhere Duck Prints Press has an account (you can see all our current platforms here) and we’ll keep our eyes on our tag everywhere!

How can you participate? It’s easy! There’s just a few simple rules:

  • write a ficlet or a poem, create art, make a gif, or create any other content that you want, aligned with the prompt for the day!
  • post your correctly tagged fills to Tumblr, and we’ll reblog them! We’ll reskeet works on Bluesky, retoot those on Mastodon, you get the idea. Note: we do not use Twitter.
  • you must tag warnings such as gore, MCD, sexual content, etc., so that people can make informed decisions!
  • please also tag fandom and ship, so people can find what interests them!
  • we ask that you put the tags at the top of your post, so they’re easy to find.
  • if you write more than 1k words and post the whole text on Tumblr or wherever, please use a read more if the platform allows.
  • if you create something with NSFW content or potentially triggering material, please put the entire work under a read more.

Ping us (duckprintspress) or tag your creations “#may trope mayhem” and so we can find them! We’ll reblog all fills that follow the above rules and are posted between May 1st and June 8th, 2024.

If you post to AO3, you can also add them to our collection there!

You don’t have to sign up for May Trope Mayhem, just post your fills. You don’t have to be a member of the Press nor do you have to be following us. You don’t have to be part of a specific fandom. We’re open to all ships, genres, formats, etc.! You don’t have to post fills on the corresponding day, though we ask that if you’re creating for a day that hasn’t happened yet, please wait for that day to post.

Participating in May Trope Mayhem? Want to chat fandom, books, creation, and more? Join our Book Lover’s Discord Server!

This is a low-pressure event, held in good fun, and we look forward to seeing what you create!

Coming Soon: May Trope Mayhem 2024!

A graphic with a pale blue background. The header reads "May Trope Mayhem: A Multi-Fandom and Original Work Creation Challenge 2024 List." Below this is a blurred out area with a swirl of thin black lines, with the word "SOON!" written in large bold letters. The Duck Prints Press logo, surrounded by rainbow duck prints on two sides, with the white dux mascot on the right and the words "we print diversity" below that, is in the lower right corner of the image.

It’s almost time for May Trope Mayhem!

What is May Trope Mayhem? It’s Duck Prints Press’s annual multi-fandom/original work creation event! Our creators have shared their favorite tropes, and we’ve picked 30 (+1 free day!), one per day of May to make an awesome, fun, diverse list of prompts to inspire your creativity. Come May 1st, we invite everyone to create a ficlet, artwork, gif set, photo montage, or whatever else they feel like, inspired by the trope of the day. We’re open to any fandom or no fandom at all, original characters and old faves, any ship (yes even that one) or no ship or reader inserts or, or, or… basically, if you can imagine it, we can accommodate it!

This year marks our fourth-annual May Trope Mayhem. Curious about the event? You can learn some by checking out our previous three years!

The rules for 2024 will be about the same as in the past, so the only big change will be in the tropes – some are repeats, some are not. And of course day 31 is still a free day – we’d love to know YOUR favorite trope, especially if it it doesn’t end up our list for this year!

The 2024 list goes public on May 1st. Mark your calendars, tell yours friends, and get ready to create with us! And follow us on social media to make sure you don’t miss a thing!

Backers on Patreon can see the list early! It’s up now – become a backer and check it out.

Kickstarter Ending VERY SOON!

A line art sketch of a three-headed hydra lounging in a Greek-style kylix, with grapes hanging over the edge. One had is open-eyed and smiling, one laughing, the last closed-eyed and smiling.

So our Mythical Creature Pride-Themed Enamel Pins and Stickers Kickstarter campaign ends in about 5 hours (at 2:20 p.m. Eastern on April 2nd). Last night, we hit our second stretch goal, and so of course Pip immediately went to work on a sketch for who our eighth design would be. May I introduce: this precious, happy hydra? They’ll be in the colors of the genderqueer pride flag (purple, white and green).

It’s not too late to back our campaign! Check it out now!

(the other seven designs? but of course…there’s our six base designs…)

Images overlaying the background show six pin designs, The six designs are: a pegasus lying on a puff of cotton candy, in trans pride flag colors; a Nessie plesiosaur lounging in an open can, in mlm pride flag colors; a phoenix taking flight in front of a cloudy sky, in wlw pride flag colors; a dragon with their hoard inside a bottle, in nb pride flag colors; a cerberus frolicking in a pond, in bisexual pride flag colors; and a cerberus standing in front of a stained glass window, in asexual pride flag colors.

…and the cutie kelpie for our first stretch goal…

Mythical Creature Pride Merch Campaign Updates!

Our Mythical Creature Pride Merch Campaign featuring (currently) six designs of mythical creatures (pegasus, nessie, phoenix, dragon, chimera, and cerberus) in the colors of six pride flags (trans, mlm, wlw, non-binary, bisexual, and asexual flags) has now been running for ten days, and it’s been going awesome – so well that we’re about to add our seventh design, also featuring the artwork of the amazing Pippin Peacock! We crossed our initial funding goal of $3,000 in under 12 hours, and we’re now only $70 from our first stretch goal, which will enable us to create pins and stickers in the colors shared by the agender pride flag and aromantic pride flag: green, white, black, and gray! And the creature for this stretch goal is…

Artwork for an enamel pin. It depicts a smiling kelpie horse with a fish tail, in shades of green, standing on a gray island, before a backdrop of white water and a leafless forest at night.

…a Kelpie!! This cutie pie loves to hang out in marshes and swamps but don’t worry, it’s only there to get some alone time in between making friends. Lovely greens help them blend in with the local flora and fauna! (Note: final design pending – this may get tweaked, and we haven’t finished the sticker version yet – this is the enamel pin design)

Also, at the risk of putting our cart before our horse, we’re also only about $1,000 from our second stretch goal, and we’ll start planning it once we’re within about $500 of it (so, once we cross $5,000 in total funding). This to-be-determined critter will be in the colors of the genderqueer pride flag (purple, white and green). I’m really excited what Pippin will come up with when I give them the green light to start designing the next beast.

And, in case you missed it, here are the other six designs…

A banner graphic with a blue background dotted with white flowers and stars. Text reads "Mythical Creature Pride Pins + Stickers. Unlock more Designs!" Images overlaying the background show six pin designs, and six sticker designs that are the same except for having black line art and more shading. The six designs are: a pegasus lying on a puff of cotton candy, in trans pride flag colors; a Nessie plesiosaur lounging in an open can, in mlm pride flag colors; a phoenix taking flight in front of a cloudy sky, in wlw pride flag colors; a dragon with their hoard inside a bottle, in nb pride flag colors; a cerberus frolicking in a pond, in bisexual pride flag colors; and a cerberus standing in front of a stained glass window, in asexual pride flag colors.

We’ve also got two of our name-a-beast bundles left, so you haven’t yet missed your chance to name one of these lovelies. Meet Jack Rose the Pegasus and Asha the Phoenix; the Dragon is claimed but remains unnamed, and our fourth beast namer hasn’t picked a beast yet. Nessie, Chimera and Cerberus are left!

So help us spread the word by sharing this post, and even better…

The Kickstarter campaign to create enamel pins and stickers of these six absolutely precious mythical creature designs is now live! Love Pride? Love cute creatures? Longing to fly your Pride colors high with some cute-but-subtle Pride beasties? You have come to the right place! We’ve taken our excitement for Pride 2024 and turned it into six precious, adorable, gorgeous designs featuring playful mythical creatures in Pride flag colors that you’re not gonna want to miss!

Each design is available as a die-cut sticker and as an enamel pin. You can get whichever stickers and pins you want: mix-and-match; get duplicates; or even back at our highest, premium backer level and get to anoint one of these cuties with a name that we’ll use for them forever after this campaign!

All the artwork is by Pippin Peacock, who brought 110% of their inspiration, creativity, and dedication to this project, and logistics are being handled by Nina Waters at Duck Prints Press.

The designs are:

  • Pegasus, in transgender pride flag colors.
  • Loch Ness, in mlm/gay pride flag colors.
  • Phoenix, in wlw/lesbian pride flag colors.
  • Dragon, in non-binary pride flag colors.
  • Chimera, in bisexual pride flag colors.

Our next crowdfunding campaign will be to produce enamel pins and die-cut stickers featuring six mythical creatures in the colors of six Pride flags!

Aether Beyond the Binary: Final 48 Hours

The Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for our anthology Aether Beyond the Binary, featuring 17 stories of non-binary, genderqueer, genderfluid, agender, bigender, and other outside-the-binary characters living in modern aetherpunk settings, has entered our final two days of funding! And we’ve crossed our funding goal (after a scare with a fake pledge that has made things…uh…interesting)!!

It’s not too late to get your copy of this awesome collection made by our very queer press by our very queer contributors. We wrap on January 25th at 9:35 a.m. Eastern time.

Learn more about Aether Beyond the Binary now by visiting the Kickstarter campaign, or read on for more info…

A graphic entitled "Aether Beyond the Binary." It shows the cover of the anthology (two people of indeterminate gender doing science, one with a flower hovering over their hand, the other holding a tablet), the sky whale enamel pin (a green whale flying through a cloudy purple night sky, the non-binary symbol balancing from its mouth), the aether dux sticker (a duck with a blue mohawk, choker necklace and a harness securing crystal wings to their torso), the plant-watering robot holographic sticker (a cute flying robot watering a tropical potted plant), and the aether musician bookmark (a young white person playing the guitar, magical swirls in the non-binary pride colors dancing around them).

What would the Earth look like if the very atoms that compose the planet were suffused with magical aether? How would our lives in the modern world be different if this aether was discovered last year, or last decade, or last century, or last millennia? How might the people who inhabit this oh-so-different but still modern Earth explore their gender identities? These are the questions we posed to the 17 authors chosen to contribute to Duck Prints Press’s newest anthology Aether Beyond the Binary. Their diverse answers are bound together in this must-not-miss collection of stories about magical worlds, adventures and mysteries, new chances and well-earned endings, and characters as gender-diverse as the worlds they inhabit.

Aether Beyond the Binary features 17 stories, each up to 7,500 words. We aim to publish it as an e-book (ePub and PDF), and to print it digest size, 5.5 in x 8.5 in (14 cm x 21.5 cm) in both trade paperback and hardcover formats. Aether Beyond the Binary also features a spectacular wrap-around cover by non-binary artist Mar Spragge; this will be printed as a lovely gloss dust jacket for the hardcover edition.

Curious about the project? You can learn way more by visiting the campaign page or by checking out our other blog posts about it to learn more about our merch and contributors and read excerpts, creator interviews, and more:
