About the Book

A memory-stealing cult.
The ever-watchful City of Eyes.
Making small talk.

Join Droplet as she faces all these horrors and more…

Vigilante shapeshifter Droplet has trained her entire life to take down those with more power than scruples, but she still makes mistakes. When a rescue mission goes wrong, a memory-stealing cult of blood mages escapes with kidnapped captives in tow. To save them, Droplet reluctantly teams up with the outgoing, tenacious Azera. Droplet knows better than to trust a human—she made that mistake once, and that person’s betrayal scattered her community across the known world—and she can tell Azera is hiding secrets behind her sunny smile. But if they can’t learn to work together, even Droplet’s own memories could be lost.

Many Drops Make a Stream, Adrian Harley’s debut novel, is the stand-alone first book in a series of related fantasy-mystery-heists featuring the shapeshifter Droplet and the friends and found family who work alongside her to fight the corrupt powers-that-be. Many Drops Make a Stream is rated general (adult) audiences and features shapeshifting shenanigans, a nascent f/f quarrelers-to-lovers pre-relationship, a wonderful extended cast of family and pseudo-family, necromancy and blood magic and spellwork (oh my!), and one (1) very angry goose.

A graphic describing the backer rewards for the "Many Drops Make a Stream" crowdfunding campaign.

A header reads, "Pre-Order 'Many Drops Make a Stream' by Adrian Harley. You can buy..." and below that are the different merchandise items, each labeled.

"Droplet Enamel Pin!" - a picture of a creature that has the torso of a goose and the backside of a tiger, as if it is a hybrid of both or has been caught mid transformation.

"Droplet!Dux Die-Cut Sticker": Duck Prints Press's stylized duck mascot, named Dux, with the torso of a goose and the lower body of a tiger...but still with duck feet.

"Patron-Exclusive Extra: To Be Revealed!": a wooden circle with a question mark written on it.

"Many Drops Make a Stream" as an E-Book and Trade Paperback": A book cover. Text on this book cover reads Many Drops Make a Stream (the title of the book) and Adrian Harley (the author of the book). The image depicts a huge bird with an eagle-like head and golden and white features carrying a medium-skinned woman with black hair who is waring a white sleeveless shirt, capri length brown pants, and ankle-high boots. The clothing looks old-fashioned without suggesting a specific time period. Far below them is a city of one and two story buildings with white walls and orange roofs, and a city square filled with people so tiny they are just small lines. The city ends with the buildings descending into a waterway in the bottom foreground. In the top middle and lower corners of the cover, a neon-pink eye motif overlays the rest of the image.

"Art Print of the Front Cover": the same image described in the previous item, but without the title and author of the book written on it.

Below this, there is a divider and then another header, "Bundles!" and three compiled images of the other merchandise.

"E-Book + Merch": shows the cover of the book, the enamel pin, the die-cut sticker, and the art print.

"E-Book + Trade Paperback": shows the cover of the book twice, once with a "download" symbol on it.

"Trade Paperback + E-Book + Merch": shows the book cover twice, the enamel pin, the die-cut sticker, and the art print.

Stretch Goals

We have two types of stretch goals for this campaign: monetary ones (as in, goals we’ll achieve if we earn X above our original $3,000 goal) and social media ones (as in, goals we’ll achieve if our post on Y platform gets Z reblogs). You can support us in meeting both these types of goals by helping us spread the word!

Monetary Stretch Goals

🎉🎉 We raised $4,000: All backers who purchased a pre-order package (e-book + merch, e-book + print book, or e-book + print book + merch) will receive a bookmark featuring the cover art! 🎉🎉

🎉🎉 We raise $5,000: All backers who purchased a pre-order package (e-book + merch, e-book + print book, or e-book + print book + merch) will receive an engraved wooden pendant featuring the Eye of Sacarus. 🎉🎉

If we raise $6,000: a HONK cut-wood key chain of Droplet in her goose form will be added at no cost to the orders of all backers who picked a pre-order package!

Social Media Stretch Goals

🎉🎉 We got 100 reblogs on Tumblr.: all pre-order campaign backers receive an emoji of the Eye of Sacarus. 🎉🎉

DPP’s main promotion post on any one platform gets 500 reblogs/reskeets/retoots/shares/etc.: all pre-order campaign backers have the option to be included on a Supporters list included in the e-book and print book.

DPP’s main promotion post on any one platform gets 1,000 reblogs/reskeets/retoots/shares/etc.: Adrian Harley will write a short post-story fluff piece that will be added to the e-book and print book editions of Many Drops Make a Stream and sent to merchandise-only backers as a stand-alone e-book.

Production Timeline

Many Drops Make a Stream is already written, edited, and within a few steps of being ready to go to print. The cover art and merchandise art have already been commissioned and completed. Thus, we’re more-or-less ready to go to print as soon as this campaign is done, assuming we meet our $3,000 minimum. This timeline represents our best-case scenario for satisfying the pre-orders.

  • Early October: All funds clear our bank account.
  • Early October: We finalize edits and finish typesetting the manuscript.
  • Early October: We order all merchandise.
  • Mid-October: We order the print books.
  • Late October: We review the book proof and make any corrections needed.
  • Late November: All books and merchandise received.
  • December: We fulfill your order! All physical packages are assembled and mailed, and e-books are distributed.

If there are production delays, if we receive substandard items that need to be re-manufactured, or if other issues arise, fulfillment could take longer. Our worst-case scenario has fulfillment by April 2024. We will communicate about our progress in fulfilling this campaign on the Duck Prints Press WordPress blog under the Many Drops Make a Stream tag.
