We’ve been talking to people about our newsletter, and listening to the feedback we’ve received, and so we’re giving the newsletter a thorough overhaul starting this month! It’ll have more original content, some interesting features, and plenty of stuff you can’t see just by following us on social media. If you’re not already a subscriber, now would be a great time to become one, and if you are one already, I hope you’ll considering giving the new newsletter a read-through when you get it later this month!
Our general interest newsletter will now go out once a month (with occasional in-between posts for major releases and/or crowdfunding launches or conclusions – but we will still never send more than once a week). Each monthly newsletter will include:
- a short letter from me about what we’ve been up to
- new releases and projects
- a Queer Joy feature, including happy happenings from anyone who cares to submit them (completely anonymously!). Did something joyful, queer, and joyfully queer happen to you recently? You can submit your queer joys for inclusion in our newsletter using this form! (shout out to the Amplifying Trans Joy newsletter, whose Community Joy feature inspired our Queer Joy one!)
- an interview with one of our creators, related to new releases (this first month’s will be with Xianyu Zhou, author and creator of the Fannish Safety Signs)
- a spotlight on one work from our back catalog
- a pet of the month picture (Finn is this month’s pet. He’s a very good dog. You know you want to meet Finn).
- submitted shinies – links, resources, games, ficlets, and more submitted by people involved with Duck Prints Press (want to submit shinies? people who back our Patreon and/or join our public Book Lover’s Server can!)
- community links, in which we share projects we’ve spotted that look like they’d be of interest to our subscribers (such as Tapling Zine’s Moments of Euphoria project), books by authors and presses we’re friendly with, and more – all new and recent releases.
We’re really excited to be unrolling this all-new format with lots of new, newsletter-exclusive features, and we hope you’ll join us as a contributor, reader, or both!
